  • The Gospel of John serves a unique purpose and stands apart from the synoptic gospels.
  • Believing in the scripture is crucial, and the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.
  • The Gospel of John focuses on eternal life and the significance of belief in Jesus Christ.
  • The prologue of the Gospel introduces the concept of the Logos and its connection to the Trinity.

Excerpt From The Sermon

The purpose of the book of John is found in John 30:21, “But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.”

“Inspiration is a doctrine that says God spoke through the Holy Spirit into the lives of the authors of Scripture. So the way I like to think of it is the big A author is God and the little a author are the authors of the individual books. For example, Luke, John, prophets, and so forth. God inspired the word to be read by man, written by men. Two passages that teach this are 2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:20-21. God breathed His word into being for us to have eternally. The overarching principle to understand is that the Bible does not merely contain the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God. It doesn’t just have some things God said. It is the very Word of God.”
