Summary:

In this episode, Michael Easley sits down with Dr. Corey Miller for a conversation about the state of higher education in America. Drawing from his book The Progressive Miseducation of America, Dr. Miller traces how universities that were once founded on Christian convictions gradually shifted toward secularism, critical theory, and progressive ideology.

The discussion explores the rise of concepts like DEI, critical theory, and “wokeness,” while examining how these ideas moved from academia into culture, politics, churches, and even Christian institutions. Dr. Miller argues that education is upstream from culture, making universities one of the most influential battlegrounds shaping future generations.

Michael and Corey also discuss the responsibility of parents, pastors, and grandparents to prepare students for the worldview challenges they will face in college. Rather than retreating from culture, Dr. Miller calls Christians to reengage the life of the mind with courage, conviction, and biblical truth.

This episode is both a warning and a challenge: if Christians want to shape culture faithfully, they cannot ignore the battle taking place in education.

Takeaways:

  • Universities shape culture downstream, making education one of the most influential forces in society.
  • Dr. Corey Miller argues that critical theory and progressive ideology have deeply infiltrated modern academia.
  • Christians cannot afford to disengage from the intellectual and cultural battles happening on college campuses.
  • Parents and grandparents must prepare students spiritually and intellectually before sending them to college.
  • The episode challenges churches to reclaim the life of the mind instead of settling for shallow discipleship.
  • Michael Easley and Corey Miller emphasize that lasting cultural renewal begins with truth, discipleship, and biblical conviction.
