How many personality inventories have you taken? DISC? Meyers-Briggs? Enneagram? StrengthsFinder 2.0? While all of those tools can be useful, the best place to find a definitive answer to our identity and mission is in God’s Word. And 1 Peter 2:4-10 spells it out for us.

1 Peter 2: 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

We’d do well to see Christ and our Christian lives from God’s viewpoint, not ours. God views our lives as chosen and precious; our spiritual sacrifices as a reflection of our love of Christ. -MJE
