This is our last episode for the 2023 season. We’ll be back the first Tuesday in January 2024.
Excerpt From The Interview
“Well, on a pastoral level, the joy of actually seeing children grow to be married and then to see their children being married. I mean, one of the fellows on our pastoral team, I did his baby dedication forty years ago. I held him in my arms and today he serves with me on the team. Things like that and the progression of seeing the word of God actually taking root in a community, people actually beginning to lay hold of these things.
Within the framework of your church leadership, within the eldership, in the early days, you may have to introduce them to an understanding of the breadth of scripture and the implications. But after a period of time, you find that you’re under their tutelage almost to the same degree that they are holding the framework. It’s a delight to see people converted by God. There was a letter this week from somebody saying, ‘I’m now on an island studying veterinary medicine. I grew up with you. I got baptized as a teenager. I’ve wandered off the track and x months ago or whatever else it is. God just reached in and grabbed the hold of my life.’ To see the restoring hand of God, the idea of seeing your children walking in the truth. That’s the delight.”
