Disability and Community in the Church

with Dr. Paul Pettit and B. Jason Epps
1 in 4 people in the United States lives with a disability, yet many of our churches don't resemble this reality. Attempts to welcome those with a disability are often implemented by well-meaning but ill-informed people. The results can lead to those with disabilities feeling excluded and isolated from the family of God. One Body, One Spirit gives eyes to the able-bodied to see the challenges experienced by those with disabilities.

Disability and Community in the Church

One Body, One Spirit by Dr. Paul Pettit and Jason Epps

Excerpt From The Interview

“Somebody might say, ‘Well, they have a disability, what can they really contribute?’ But God has created each one of us with His image. We’re all image bearers. We’ve all been created in the Imago Dei. So each person disabled, able-bodied, we have a gift, we have a purpose. That scriptural search for me was really enlightening. I knew Jesus did miracles, but I didn’t know that so much of scripture is filled with people who are brokenhearted and suffering.”
