“When it comes to the signs Jesus does in the book of John, everybody focuses on the Moses parallels. But we have to remember, it’s God that does these things. Moses doesn’t provide the bread, God does. This is such a high Christology, it’s so transparent, Jesus is doing God-things in the Gospel of John. We may remember that from Moses, but Moses didn’t have the power to do those things, God did. And Jesus is now doing God stuff in His ministry.”

Professor Craig A. Evans is a well-known New Testament scholar, prolific author, and popular teacher/speaker.
