“I quote Darwin as saying that the baboon is our grandfather. Well, if the baboon is our grandfather, we have no argument against abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia. We do that with animals. We are only an animal a little farther along the continuum. And that’s why later in the book I argue that there has to be a God, a transcendent God, and we need to believe the creation story in order to have human rights.”
Erwin W. Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church where he served as the Senior Pastor for 36 years. He earned a B.Th. from Winnipeg Bible College, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, a M.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University, and an honorary LL.D. from the Simon Greenleaf School of Law.
