Evidence of Jesus (John 5:31-47)

Michael originally taught ‘Evidence of Jesus’ (John 5:31-47) at Immanuel Bible Church.

  • Jesus presents five witnesses that testify to His divinity: Himself, John the Baptist, His own works, God the Father, and the Scriptures.
  • The works of Jesus are powerful evidence of His divinity and cannot be refuted.
  • The rejection of Jesus is often due to a desire for personal glory and a refusal to come to Him on His terms.
  • God calls believers to examine their lives and ensure that their actions reflect a love for God.

Excerpt From The Sermon

“Jesus, in a sense, gives witness to Himself. John the Baptist gives witness to Jesus Christ as the way to salvation. The most powerful evidence of Jesus comes in His works. No matter how great John’s testimony was, the works of Jesus were more powerful than anything. John the Baptist created interest and enthusiasm for the Jew to come back to his or her Judaism.  The witness of God comes through every good and perfect gift He gives. Each one bears witness that Jesus is His Son.”
