Q: How do I know that I love God? How do I know I'm not doing all the spiritual things just because I'm ‘supposed to’?

How Do I Know That I Love God?

How do I know that I love God? I read the Bible daily, I pray, practice spiritual disciplines, do all the things a Christian “should do” but how do I know that I really love God and am not just doing all those things because I know I’m supposed to or because I’m trying to earn His favor?

Excerpt From The Answer

“We approach the spiritual disciplines, as the demonstration that, yes, I love Christ and I choose to spend time in the Word and in prayer. But remember He loves you period. He loves you and me because of Christ’s work, not our good works. Our feelings will come and go. We might “feel” refreshed, encouraged, “close to God,” at certain times. But we also press on when our feelings don’t line up with the truth.”
