Q: Is There a Possibility That God Created Life on Other Planets? And if so, would salvation look the same or would the life on that planet even receive salvation?

Question

Is There a Possibility That God Created Life on Other Planets? And if so, would salvation look the same or would the life on that planet even receive salvation?

Answer

We will always push you to the Bible. Further, we have no information about other planets with life. Nothing tells us that Jesus went to another planet. The creation account in Genesis 1-2 is clear that when God created the world, He also created an expanse in the heavens. When we look up at the sky, we will see stars, but we will also see planets.

God created everything; The ultimate course was for man to have a habitable environment. The crown of His creation was those made in His image. Ephesians 6:12 is somewhat related to this. Paul writes, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

The Apostle Paul is connecting back to this heavenly expanse mentioned in Genesis. He also talks about it in Colossians 1:16 and Romans 8:38. The rulers, powers, and world forces of the darkness are part of the angelic realm that fell. This seems clear with the overall message of Scripture: angelic hosts are good or evil and exist in this heavenly realm. It cannot be seen or understood, but Scripture mentions it repeatedly.

We have no angelic intermediary. The only intermediary we have is Jesus Christ. So the words Paul is using here refer to some super being. In the theological bandwidth of how He created the expanse and these other beings that live there, it would seem like the scriptures would’ve said, ‘and in other worlds, God created beings.’

The location of where Christ is is all that matters. But it is interesting to think about the number of theological problems that would exist if there were, in fact, humans on other planets. None of this matters when it comes to the person of Jesus Christ, who created us in His image, lived, died, was buried, and came back from the dead. He offers salvation to all who trust Christ and Christ alone.
