Summary:
On this episode, Michael Easley sits down with Mark Hopson to discuss the urgent need for gospel clarity in a culture filled with confusion, deception, and competing worldviews.
Hopson shares the story behind his book Set Free and the ministry of Decision Point, which equips students to boldly share the gospel in their public schools. Together they explore how today’s generation is being shaped by powerful cultural lies about identity, sexuality, truth, and purpose. Yet rather than retreating from these conversations, Hopson argues that Christians must engage them directly with truth and compassion.
The book highlights seven major lies shaping modern culture and pairs each one with powerful testimonies of people whose lives were transformed by the gospel. From atheism to pornography to sexual identity, these stories demonstrate that the gospel is not merely theoretical—it truly sets people free.
Easley and Hopson also discuss the reality of spiritual bondage and the hope found in Christ. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the power of Scripture, and the support of the church, believers can experience freedom from sin’s control.
Ultimately, the conversation calls the church to raise a courageous generation of young believers who understand the gospel deeply and are willing to proclaim it boldly in a broken world.
