“Each year I would pick one thing that threatens me. That was another lesson from Hendricks. For example, I’d studied Ecclesiastes. I had never liked that book. It was hard, cumbersome, and confusing. I spent three years in the Hebrew texts and it was the most incredible time. I had to force myself to go to a different book. It taught me an invaluable lesson.”
