Was Jesus Fully God and Fully Man on Earth?

with Michael Easley
Q: During His time on earth, was Jesus fully God and fully man or was He temporarily emptied of His divinity?

Was Jesus Fully God and Fully Man on Earth?

I send out a weekly email with 1 Bible verse, 1 quote, 1 question each week…. Recently I sent out an email that included Mark 1:35 and I wrote a little commentary that said: If the God-man (remember He was FULLY God and also fully man) needed to get up early in the morning, get away from all the people, and spend time in the presence of His Father– HOW MUCH MORE DO WE?!  I got an email back that said this: Almighty GOD is not a man nor has he ever been. Read a little deeper in your Bible. Learn his name and differentiate between the father and his son who also is a god but the one and only ALMIGHTY GOD.  So, I thought it’d be fun to bring this to you, mi padre, and see how you would respond to this person.

Excerpt From The Answer

“This sounds like a Jehovah’s Witness. They reject the trinity, Jesus is a lesser god, not Almighty God, the Father alone is God. In denying the trinity – the Holy Spirit cannot be a person, much less god, but an emanating force of God. To believe in the trinity would mean three gods. They will typically use John 14:28 as a proof text for this belief. It says, ‘You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.’ However, we have countless texts where Jesus makes it clear that He is completely equal to the Father. For example, John 10:30, Matthew 28:19, and John 1:1.”
