The Perfect Love

A. Nicodemus—a highly religious leader—had come at night
to ask Jesus some questions.
B. Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born from above, born
again and explained to him what that meant.
C. The Greatest Love, Greatest Gift, Perfect Love was God
motivated to remedy man’s sin-full condition.
D. Jesus Christ, the One and Only Son of God, came to die
for our sins.
E. Not limited to a select group; not just the pious Jew but
offered to all.
F. God’s love is universal in character, sacrificial in
nature and eternal in purpose.
G. No greater gift, no greater love, and no greater
justice than Jesus Christ.

“One of our problems with understanding who God is and how He loves is that we have these indexes that aren’t bad, but they aren’t biblical. To understand God’s love, we have to look at His book.” John 3:16 is the most well known verse in the Bible concerning God’s love.

Perhaps the most widely-known verse in Scripture: John 3:16, but how well do we really know it? Michael gives context to this oft-quoted text to help us understand the nature and function of God’s love. In the same way Moses lifted up the serpent, so the Son of Man must be lifted up so that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. This is the way God loved: He sent His Son who will die for our sin.
