Satisfying Spiritual Thirst (John 4:1-19)

Michael originally taught ‘Satisfying Spiritual Thirst’ (John 4:1-19) at Immanuel Bible Church.

  • Human desires are unquenchable and manifest in various forms such as love, intimacy, possessions, significance, and security.
  • God offers the only legitimate solution to quench spiritual thirst, providing eternal fulfillment and satisfaction.
  • The world presents illegitimate remedies for spiritual thirst, leading to brokenness, disappointment, and insatiability.
  • Finding spiritual fulfillment and quenching one’s thirst requires a relationship with Jesus Christ, offering eternal life and satisfaction.

Excerpt From The Sermon

“Do you know the gift of God? Well, if you do, you have living water. She is not aware of who she’s talking to and He is trying to help her understand. He says, I would have given you living water. The word living is manifold in meaning as well. The Jews saw the Torah and the law as living water. The Jews referred to wisdom as living water and the Old Testament referred to the Holy Spirit as living water. Just like Nicodemus, she’s thinking on the horizontal level and Jesus is trying to get her to look up and see the vertical meaning.”
