Living in a World of Hate (John 15:18-27)

Michael originally taught ‘Living in a World of Hate’ (John 15:18-27) at Immanuel Bible Church.

  • Believers will face hatred for their faith in Christ.
  • Understanding relationships with God and others is crucial.
  • Persecution is a reality for those who follow Jesus.
  • Living authentically in Christ will attract opposition.
  • The Holy Spirit empowers believers to witness.
  • Christians should respond to hatred with love.
  • Truth is essential in a world that often rejects it.
  • Witnessing is a command for all believers.
  • Engaging with the world requires compassion, not hatred.
  • Courage is necessary to stand firm in faith.

Excerpt From The Sermon

“We have to be in the world but not of the world. Now we need to understand that sometimes Christians bring the world’s hatred on ourselves. Sometimes Christians are just plain stupid. And when we get in trouble and the world hates us, that’s an entirely different issue. But when you live for Christ and you live well, the world’s still going to hate you because of who you are in Christ. Now Jesus is not saying go therefore and hate the world. He’s just letting you know that if you’re in Christ the world’s going to hate you.”
