Bonus Episode: Micah

with Dr. Mark Chavalas
Michael speaks with Dr. Mark Chavalas about the words of the prophet Micah.

Dr. Mark Chavalas is back to help us understand the words of the prophet Micah.

“As Christians, what have we done with the Old Testament? We have taken the Old Testament and, in many respects, re-interpreted much of it in the context of what Christ has done. It doesn’t meant that the original context was wrong, it means that it now transcends its original context.”

Dr. Mark Chavalas is a professor of history at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. He is the author or co-author of numerous publications and co-editor of The Ancient Near East and Women in the Ancient Near East. Dr. Chavalas’ current research is focused on writing a history of Bronze Age Syria from the advent of writing in the third millennium BC to the Iron Age.
