Sight to The Blind (John 9:1-41)

  • Suffering and illness are not always a result of specific sins, but are part of the fallen world we live in.
  • Miracles are signs that point to something deeper, such as spiritual blindness or disease.
  • Faith in Jesus as the Son of Man is the key to experiencing the transformative power of God.
  • Belief in Jesus does not always lead to immediate physical healing, but it brings spiritual healing and eternal life.

Excerpt From The Sermon

“It’s very important to see, too, that the miracle by itself really doesn’t mean anything at all. The man has a wonderful life ahead of him now compared to the life of a beggar. But what has he net gained? And the work of God, apart from the person of God, is not embraced by faith. Jesus is always the centerpiece of faith. Jesus is the One who affected the miracle. People who get healed may live better, more profitable lives, but they still may not know Christ. So a wonderful thing doesn’t mean anything in and of itself, other than it’s a wonderful thing. It takes the Word of Christ and the question of Christ, do you believe in the Son of Man?”
