Sorrow Turned Into Joy (John 16:16-22)

Michael originally taught ‘Sorrow Turned Into Joy’ (John 16:16-22) at Immanuel Bible Church.

  • Cultural obsession with happiness often leads to dissatisfaction.
  • True happiness is not found in material possessions or achievements.
  • Joy is a gift that comes from a relationship with Christ.
  • Grief and joy can coexist in the believer’s life.
  • Suffering can lead to spiritual growth and deeper joy.
  • Christ’s presence assures us of joy amidst suffering.
  • True joy is a heart condition, not just a fleeting emotion.
  • Trusting in God’s plan is essential for finding true joy.

Excerpt From The Sermon

“Again, so much of our mindset about being happy is the acquisition of or the attaining of some thing or goal. I don’t think that’s what He planned for us. He died once for all so that we will live in joy. Yes, there’s going to be grief and pain. Yes, there’ll be disappointments. Sometimes we think they’ll never end. But the believer in Christ understands those are temporary. Jesus Christ died for sin once for all, and He is now seated at the right hand of His Father in eternal glory and perfection, and He rejoices in your redemption.”
