How Christians Should Think About Economics

with Dr. Brian Baugus
Dr. Brian Baugus joins Michael to discuss God's view of our money and how Christians should approach politics in light of economics.

Excerpt From The Interview

“As Kuyper says, ‘Every square inch God claims is His.’ But we are entrusted and are allowed to manage it as though it is our own. The goal here is not to leave something as you found it, but to leave it in a better shape than you found it. That involves investment, that involves work. It involves the kinds of things that we see in various numbers of parables that Jesus tells about. The kingdom of heaven is like the master who leaves talents with his servants and the two that get rewarded were the ones who went and invested them and earned more.

The master punished the one that preserved. So that all descends from the concept of private property. Don’t get caught up in the idea that socialism sounds lovely. Lots of things on paper sound lovely. The practical reality is it’s not what God ordered and it’s not how society works. And there’s a reason that any place you go where true socialism has been tried ends up being a disaster.”
