Why We Believe What We Believe

The Doctrine of Inspiration

Why we believe what we believe about Inspiration is not important to our faith, it is crucial, because if indeed this is God’s message to man, rooted from God to us in these forms we hold today, it is the message of hope, life, truth, and salvation to which we ascribe and which we hope to share with others. Is the Bible the Word of God, or not? Listen as Michael teaches part one of two on the Doctrine of Inspiration.

Why We Believe What We Believe

The Doctrine of the Trinity

When we think about this doctrine of the Trinity – that there’s three persons in one Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – even for academics and Theologians, it’s a mind bending subject. It’s complicated. Yet, Scripture has a lot to offer about the relationship not only within the Trinity, but as human beings relate to God. Interestingly, apart from a Trinitarian Godhead, no one could be saved. In other words, if we don’t understand the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the role of those three persons; we don’t understand how a human being could be saved.

It’s interesting when faith finds its way into the Media. We have bylines and idioms that we use to talk about “Christianity” very broadly. I wonder, If I call myself a Christian, am I to look any different than the world?

Be On Guard

Remember God’s Word: 2 Peter 3:1-7

2 Peter 2:10b-22

The Detailed Description and Destruction of False Teachers. Christianity requires constant re-education. We’re not teaching something new; rather we are re-educating, re-affirming, reminding, and teaching others who have yet to learn.

Be On Guard

Judgment & Deliverance: 2 Peter 2:4-10

Peter explains God’s judicial dealings with three well known historical stories and reminds readers that God judges justly. He uses examples that his audience would’ve been familiar with to display both God’s righteous judgment and God’s deliverance of the righteous. Like Peter’s readers, we live in a time of darkness, an unrighteous and ungodly world, rife with immorality, corruption and people who despise authority. Interesting that this was written some 1,950-some years ago!

Beyond the Turkey + Stuffing

It is good to remember our national heritage, but it is even better to remember our spiritual heritage.

What do you need to be reminded of?

As parents, we need to continually remind our children of certain principles so that they learn to do the right thing. In the same way, as Believers, we need to be continually reminded of Biblical truth.
