Walking on The Water (John 6:16-25)
Michael originally taught ‘Walking on The Water’ (John 6:16-25) at Immanuel Bible Church.
- Feeling alone and lonely is a common part of the human experience.
- Jesus Christ knows our needs and fears and is always present to calm and deliver us.
- We should recognize Jesus as our King and trust Him in all circumstances.
Excerpt From The Sermon
“Jesus Christ has come to be a king on His terms, and He wants followers to follow Him on His terms. Jesus Christ knew what He intended to do when He stood in front of those people. The people wanted to make Him a king. He said, no, I’m going to go walk on the water. I’m going to show you I’m not just a king over food, I’m a king over nature, and I’m going to show you a whole lot of other things to open your perspective. We need to ask ourselves where we are trying to make Jesus in our image.
Jesus did not come to be a pretty good guy who loves everybody. He came to establish a theocracy for which He died. He asked you and me to follow Him as good soldiers, as good servants, as good men and women, stewards of the mysteries of God. Jesus did not call you to cower in a culture that doesn’t like Him. He said the world will hate you. Listen, it hasn’t begun to hate us. But let me tell you, there’s no better time to stand lovingly and firmly for Jesus Christ than today.”
