Excerpt From The Sermon

“This is one of the choice examples in this section of Scripture where John uses a concept to teach several different parts of meaning. What does it mean for Jesus to cleanse us? First of all it is the atonement. There is the fundamental requirement that a person who trusts Christ is atoned for by His blood. This is a complete action. When you trust Jesus Christ, He takes care of all of your sins, all of my sins. No matter how wicked in the past, no matter how grotesque we presently are involved in them, when we are atoned for by the blood of Christ, He cleanses us from all of our sins.”
