Proverbs tells us there is victory in an abundance of counselors, so I called a few of my wiser friends and asked if they’d share their counsel with us as we navigate a historic and contentious presidential election. First up, Dr. Wayne Grudem offers his wise insights.
From the episode:
“In this election season: if you agree with Romans 13:1, then you’d have to agree that God put President Trump in office. The question is, did God put Trump in office as a blessing to the nation or for judgment to the nation?”

“God has given you a stewardship responsibility.
You’ve got a tiny slice of the authority to rule over the nation when you vote. There’s a responsibility, then, to affect the outcome of the election in a way that you think will be best for the nation. If you don’t use that, you’re not using your stewardship to influence the outcome of the election.
Whether your candidate wins or loses, the margin of that victory or defeat is still significant for the subsequent political context that occurs in the country, so your vote is always going to be important.”
