Jesus, The True Light (John 1:2-13)
Michael originally taught ‘Jesus, The True Light’ at Immanuel Bible Church. In this sermon, Michael teaches through John 1:2-13.
- The biblical perspective, as defined by Jesus Christ and the Gospel of John, emphasizes Jesus’ eternality and role as the Creator of all things.
- The themes of light and darkness are significant in understanding Jesus as the true light and the need for belief in Him.
- John the Baptist serves as a witness to Jesus, and all have the opportunity to believe and become children of God.
Excerpt From The Sermon
Scripture is explicit in the divine works of Jesus Christ starting in creation. He also is the only one who can forgive. It is a work that only Jesus can do. A human can forgive a human to some measure. Only Jesus Christ can expunge and completely forgive. Jesus is the only one who was resurrected by Himself. Scripture also teaches that He will be the final judgment. He will be the one who dissolves all things and renews all things. There are certain works that only Jesus will do. One of the miracles John will refer to in the gospel is the miracle reserved for Messiah. No magician, no false prophet ever conjured the miracle Jesus conjured because He didn’t conjure it. Jesus Christ created. And only God can do these things.
