Proverbs 10 reminds us of the weight of our words. It is vital to use discernment and consult the wisdom of scripture before we speak.

The Proverbs begin in Chapter 10 of this book of wisdom. Transitioning from the ‘lectures’, we enter into the true lessons of Proverbs.

Proverbs 9 tells us that the feast of wisdom brings life, while the feast of folly is fraudulent at every turn.

Proverbs 8 makes it clear that wisdom is the best guide in every area of life. It is good to take heed of wisdom’s instruction.

Micah 5:2-5 explains the coming Ruler, His reign, and the peace He will bring. The birth of Jesus Christ fulfilled New and Old Testament prophecies alike.

In Isaiah 9:1-7, Isaiah, the prophet, moved by God, speaks words of comfort to the Israelites of the eternal Messiah over 700 years before Christ was born of Mary.

Proverbs 7 shows us the seduction of the simple. Without wisdom, temptation always wins, the immature lose, and catastrophe awaits.

In Proverbs 6:1-19, the father warns his son to watch out for the irresponsible, lazy, and wicked. Throughout the text, we learn what pleases and displeases God.

Proverbs 5:1-23 is God’s wisdom in marriage and life being imparted to man. The simple and naive can learn, but the fool may never understand.

Q: I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where after the description of Jesus sharing bread and wine during the Passover meals that it says that this should become a ritual… As in something that you do in church or at a gathering. I’ve often wondered why we don’t just do this at home every day. It’s like when we break bread at suppertime and have our drink why don’t we just say it and remember that Christ died for us broke his body and shed his blood for us. Does it have to be something that we do in church? When did communion and church become a thing? And how do the Scriptures support what we do?
